About the Trainers

Glenna O. Auxier is the primary author of A Positive Divorce Resolution and President of Positive Divorce Resolution, Inc.  For the last 18 years, she has been an active parent educator. During this time, Glenna has also been a Guardian ad Litem, mediator and crisis center counselor, and is certified as a child-care trainer. Her life commitment is to help parents create close, loving relationships with their children. She has a 35-year old son and a 31-year old foster daughter.

Robert J. Perchalski, Ph.D. is a co-author of PDR and Curriculum Coordinator for Positive Divorce Resolution, Inc. Bob has been active in medical and pharmaceutical research since 1971. He is a certified parent educator and has been trained in family mediation. He has 2 children and 4 grandchildren. Bob is also a Certified Quality Engineer and a Certified Quality Auditor (American Society for Quality) and is responsible for Quality Assurance for the PDR Program.

Since 1991, Glenna and Bob have taught over 1900 courses and given over 70 invited workshops including presentations to physicians (C.M.E.s provided by the University of Florida), attorneys (C.L.E.s provided by the Florida Bar and National Business Institute), teachers, child care workers, school psychologists (C.E.U.s provided by School Boards of Alachua, Levy, Suwannee and Bradford Counties), numerous Parent Teacher Associations, University of Florida Division of Housing, Alachua County Library District, Santa Fe Community College (Gainesville), Shand's Teaching Hospital, Florida Department of State (Division of Library Services), Alachua County Schools, Nationwide Insurance Co., Valencia Community College (Orlando), Office of State Courts Administrators, the International Network for Children and Families.

Glenna and Bob have completed training at the University of Denver to teach Fighting for Your Marriage, based on the Prevention and Relationship Enhancement (PREP™) approach pioneered by Drs. Howard Markman, Scott Stanley and Susan Blumberg. This program is based on over 20 years of research conducted by Dr. Markman and his colleagues. They have also completed training with Dr. Stephen Bavolec to teach the Nurturing Parent ProgramŽ, which focuses on the prevention and treatment of child abuse and neglect by helping at-risk parents.
